    Raaz 3 Review In Short
An insecure actress resorts to black magic to wreak havoc in the life of her competitor, with disastrous results

    Raaz 3 Review Verdict

Vikram Bhatt's horror flick might make you gasp in fright in some parts because of the 3D effects but the overall effect is not so impressive

    Raaz 3 Review Story Plot

Shanaya Shekhar (Bipasha Basu) is an insecure actress, whose stardom is fading and despite the encouragement provided by her secret lover Aditya (Emraan Hashmi), who is also a film director, Shanaya finds no relief.

When Shanaya feels threatened by newcomer actress Sanjana (Esha Gupta), the former decides to take the help of the dark arts to achieve supremacy over the latter. Shanaya also ropes in a reluctant Aditya to help her with the black magic process. Though Aditya agrees initially, he begins to see the error of his ways when Sanjana's maid servant loses her life due to the effect of the black magic. However, when Aditya refuses to do her bidding, Shanaya blackmails him into helping her with the help of a video footage that shows the two conspiring to use black magic to get rid of Sanjana.

How Aditya, who has now fallen in love with Sanjana, manages to rescue his lady love by going against Shanaya forms the rest of the story.

    Raaz 3 Review Performances

Bipasha Basu as the sexy villainess Shanaya does a magnificent job while playing the role of an insecure woman, who forsakes God and embraces the Devil, personified by Taradutt (Manish Choudhary), an evil spirit, who makes a Faustian pact with Shanaya. Bipasha's smoldering eyes, evil cackle and an aura of sensuous evil, adds to the effect. Esha Gupta as the newcomer actress Sanjana gives in a decent performance whereas Emraan Hashmi, who seems to be back in his 'serial kisser' avatar, is passable enough but fails to deliver the kind of performance he gave in films like Shanghai.

    Raaz 3 Review Direction
Without doubt, the first half of the movie is fast-paced and does manage to make you gasp in fear, mostly because of the 3D effects. However, post interval, the movie-goer is bound to lose interest as the plots drags on without much intention of speeding up. Moreover, besides the few moments which startle you, the overall effect is quite tacky and the evil spirit, who battles with Aditya in the climax scenes, is not really scary as such. On the contrary, the character might remind you of the ghosts that you might have seen in the Ramsay movies made in the 80s, which don't really scare you much anymore and even seem comical at times.

    Raaz 3 Review Music

Unlike other Vishesh Films, which usually boast of an impressive music, Raaz 3 does not have much to offer in terms of music and can also be termed as disappointing.

    Raaz 3 Review Final Word
Fans of Bipasha Basu, who wish to see the dusky dame in a dark role, might enjoy the movie as will fans of the horror-thriller genre (as far as the first half of the movie is concerned). However, the second half of the movie might disappoint you…
