A bunch of animals decide to travel to Delhi to seek help after their natural habitat is threatened by construction projects…
Delhi Safari Review Verdict
Though the animation is not as great as Hollywood animation projects, the film does impress you because of its impressive voice-overs and humour quotient
Delhi Safari Review Story Plot
Sultan (
Suniel Shetty), a leopard stays with his wife Begum (
Urmila Matondkar) and son Yuvraj (
Swini Khara) in the jungles of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Mumbai. When Sultan is killed when he strays onto an under-construction plot inside the park, the rest of the animals decide to go to Delhi to plead with the government to spare their jungle. However, for their task, they need the help of Alex the parrot (
Akshaye Khanna), who is the only one who can communicate with humans. Bajrangi the monkey (
Govinda) and Bagga the bear (
Boman Irani) volunteer for the mission and manage to kidnap Alex from the house of a film producer.
However, all is not well within the animal kingdom. Alex is not so enthusiastic about helping the animals whereas Bajrangi has no love lost for the smart-alec parrot. How this bunch of animals manages to resolve their differences and plead their case before the 'powers that be' forms the rest of the story.
Delhi Safari Review Technical
The animation of the movie is not as amateurish as other animation flicks made in Hindi in the past, but is not as good as
Arjun: The Warrior Prince either. However, it must be said that the animators have taken great efforts to make the expressions of the characters seem real and they have achieved what they had set out to do. However, the USP of the film remains the voice-overs and the dialogues, not to mention the constant references to Bollywood…for example, you have a pack of hyenas singing the Himesh number
Tandoori nights, while planning to hunt their prey and a parrot dancing to the famous
main tera tota number in his introductory scene.
However, on the flip side, the film does get slightly preachy at times and the animation could have been a bit better to make it a truly wonderful movie.
Delhi Safari Review Final Word
Without a doubt,
Delhi Safari is a treat not only for kids but also for the grown-ups accompanying them…
