Ajab Gazabb Love SYNOPSIS

Heir to a billion-dollar automobile empire, Rajveer Grewal has it all, a loving family, riches of the world, and a dream job designing cars. He falls head-over-heels in love with Madhuri, who is a strong advocate of social justice and equality. To his dismay, Rajveer learns that she ‘hates’ all rich people and will have nothing to do with a rich boy like himself.

In a sweeping stance of romance, Rajveer decides to give it all up and pretend to be the ‘poorest of the poor’ in order to win her affection and love. A comedy of errors ensues as Rajveer and his ultra-rich lavish family attempt to play the parts of poor slumdwellers and in doing so turn into a dysfunctional bunch of over-the-top actors.

As this “riches to rags” story takes one hysterical turn after another, how long will they succeed in keeping up this charade?

And is there something Madhuri is hiding from the family herself?

Find out how it all culminates into the funniest, most lovable romantic comedy of 2012!

Ajab Gazabb Love REVIEWS

Funny In Parts, Boring In Others

Ajab Gazabb Love Review In Short
A rich heir pretends to be poor in order to impress the woman of his dreams, who disapproves of the affluent class…

Ajab Gazabb Love Review Verdict
Though the film has quite a few funny moments, the overall film is not so great…worth a watch, though…

Ajab Gazabb Love Review Story Plot
Rajveer (Jackky Bhagnani) is the son of a rich business tycoon Yashwardhan Grewal (Darshan Jariwala), who falls in love with a social science student Madhuri Singh (Nidhi Subbaiah) after spotting her while on his way to work. When Rajveer lands up at her college to find out more about her, he discovers that Madhuri has a healthy dislike for the moneyed class. Determined to win her heart, Rajveer not only pretends to be a poor mechanic, but also ropes in his family for the mission. How this leads to hilarious circumstances forms the rest of the plot.

Ajab Gazabb Love Review Performances
Without a doubt, the actors have put in their best as far as performances are concerned. Veteran actors Darshan and Kirron Kher leave you in splits with their antics and even young Jackky displays a great comic timing, though he fails to impress in emotional scenes. Nidhi is passable but Arjun Rampal, who might be considered by some as slightly weak in the acting department, surprises you with his performance (the hunky model-actor has a great screen presence, which adds to it). Another surprise package is Arshad Warsi, who is seen in a short role and makes you wish there was more of him in the rest of the movie.

Ajab Gazabb Love Review Direction
In all honesty, this film could have been a great watch had director Sanjay Gadhvi focused solely on the comic element. The film is darn funny in parts and is sure to leave you chuckling in your pop-corn buckets. However, the director makes the mistake of inserting emotional scenes throughout the movie when they are not required, which mars the overall effect. Moreover, the makers could have surely done away with a couple of songs, which achieve nothing more than putting Jackky's enviable abdominal muscles and lean physique on full display.

Ajab Gazabb Love Review Music
Except for the peppy Boom Boom and the foot-tapping Nachde Punjabi, the rest of the music of the film does not really leave an impact as such.

Ajab Gazabb Love Review Final Word
If you are looking forward to a few chuckles and guffaws, do go for this movie…However, don't carry too much expectations with you…

'Boom Boom' And 'Tu' Bring On The Spark

By Reflections, MovieTalkies.com, 01 October 2012 2.5 / 5

Ajab Gazabb Love is an upcoming comedy directed by the Sanjay Gadhvi of Dhoom fame. After his debacle Kidnap he is now attempting a romantic comedy for which he along with producer Vashu Bhagnani have chosen the hit duo of Sajid-Wajid. There are four original tracks and two remixes in the album.

Album begins with a bang as the song Boom Boom rocks the show. After watching the proms one can easily measure that the song is just the right fit for a stylish presentation of the protagonist. It's a hip-hop based track with Mika Singh lending his voice. Song is very much in the same genre as Jackky Bhagnani's Chaar Baj Gaye from F.A.L.T.U. Though not quite a hit in the same league, it is still worth listening to especially because of Mika's voice. There is also a 'remix version' of the same song which is a little faster than the original, though frankly, there isn't much to differentiate the two.

Album takes a soft and curvy turn with Tu which is rendered by the owner of silky voice, Mohit Chauhan. He rarely goes wrong when at the helm of microphone and this one is no different. Another thing that stands out is the use of instruments in this soft melody which keeps the tempo just perfect for the song. It's one of those outings that can be enjoyed in a repeat mode, just as is the case with Mohit's other songs.

Mohammed Irfan and Antrara Mitra fill in the slot of a romantic duet with Sun Soniye. Another soft dreamy track, this one fits well in the film's context and overall theme. Though the song is tolerable, it is just about average and doesn't really stand out as a memorable romantic or passionate number. There is a 'remix 'of the same track which is of course faster. However, a switch from a soft and dreamy tune to pop based romanticism is a little unwarranted for sure.

Nachde Punjabi is the next track vocalised by Dalvinder Singh who is a popular UK Punjabi artist. It's a typical Sukhbir number and takes you back to many of his earlier hits. Even the background mixing is very similar with amalgamation of traditional and modern sound resulting in an Indi-pop bhangra fusion. This one should find a place in discs and clubs, especially in North India.

Though Ajab Gazabb Love doesn't turn out to be another Dhoom or a F.A.L.T,U., it certainly has a spark or two that keeps the momentum going. In the film's context, that should be enough to keep the momentum on.
