Ishkq In Paris Movie Review: Preity’s Pretty Parisian Romance!
Ishkq In Paris Movie Review-In Short: Two commitment-phobic people meet on a train to Paris by chance and end up falling in love after spending time together. However, love is never so simple, is it?...Even in a romantic city like Paris!
Ishkq In Paris Movie Review-Verdict: The film is a visual delight for sure and the story is quite contemporary, if somewhat predictable...
Ishkq In Paris Movie Review-Story Plot: Ishkq (Preity Zinta) and Akash Kapoor (Rhehan Malliek) are two commitment-phobic people, who meet by chance on a train from Rome to Paris. Akash has to go back to London the next day and so when he suggests that the two explore the city night-life together without any commitments of meeting each other ever, Ishkq readily agrees.
The night is spent wining and dining in Paris and the two develop a close bond. Needless to say, when they get back to their lives, the London-based Akash starts missing her and contacts her when he has to come to Paris for a friend’s wedding. The two start hanging out again and all seems fine, till Akash confesses his love for her, leading to a dispute between the two. Ishkq’s father had allegedly abandoned the family when she was young and this has made her wary of commitments. Harsh words are exchanged and the two vow to never see each other ever again.
What happens next? Do the two get back together? Watch the movie to find out…
Ishkq In Paris Movie Review-Performances: Preity Zinta is back to her bubbly, cheerful avatar with this movie and the dimpled dame manages to look as good as she did in her debut movie Dil Se. With her child-like giggle and her zestful personality, Preity is as endearing as ever in her role as Ishkq. Rhehan Malliek as Akash does a decent job too, though in many scenes, he is unable to match up to Zinta as far as screen presence is concerned. Isabelle Adjani as Preity’s mother doesn’t have much scenes as such.
Ishkq In Paris Movie Review-Direction: Like mentioned earlier, the film is a visually delightful fare. Prem Raj has captured the beauty of Paris effectively and the high production values will definitely help the film find many takers. However, on the flip side, the story is somewhat predictable, though fans of the Mills And Boon kind of love stories might enjoy it. To the director’s credit, the conflict in the love story is quite contemporary (fear of commitment due to abandonment issues) so there are no age-old family feuds or the other usual reasons that have been keeping apart silver screen lovers since time immemorial, which definitely helps the story seem more believable and easy to relate to.
Ishkq In Paris Movie Review-Music: The music of the film is quite varied...from the peppy Ít's all about tonight to the melodious Jaane bhi de to the foot-tapping Kudiye di kurti (featuring Salman Khan), the music is bound to be a hit.
Ishkq In Paris Movie Review-Final Word: Fans of Preity Zinta and hard-core love story junkies are sure to enjoy this one.
