Born on the first day of the year, this terribly talented actor has some totally different bracket of films to his credit. From his very first film, Nana Patekar believes in doing different roles and so far has come out with a wide variety of roles. None have been similar to the other. Nana Patekar's first film Aaj Ki Awaz could not do much for him. But N. Chandra tapped this budding talent in Ankush which catapulted him to fame.

Nana married Neelkanti who was an actress and a leading director of Marathi plays. They fell in love and got married at a very young age. They have a son called Malhar. They soon had major differences and decided to separate without getting divorced. He bought his own one bedroom flat in the Government of Maharashtra 10 percent quota and still lives there. He initially travelled by buses and then bought his own bike, then he bought an open jeep but he was finally advised to buy the Esteem in which he presently travels.
