A gold medalist in economics from Tuft’s University, Boston, and the granddaughter of freedom fighter Late Justice Rajni Patel, Amisha Patel's background did not even remotely suggest that she was going to be an actor one day. But destiny sure had a course chalked out for her, and when her father's schoolmate Rakesh Roshan asked her if she would like to be cast opposite his son Hrithik in ’Kaho naa…’ Amisha grabbed the opportunity. The role of an exhuberant college girl in love, going through pain at losing her lover and rediscovering a more mature relationship gave Amisha scope to perform.And plenty of adulation on release as the film has turned out to be a smashing success. Amisha soon followed the success of Kaho naa.. with Gadar, which went on to create quite a bit of a stir across the country. She was later seen in movies like Aap Mujhe Acche Lagne, Dil Deke Dekho, Parwana and Zameer. Her forthcoming films include Ankahee.
