Jackky Bhagnani PROFILE
The son of renowned B'Town producer Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky was born in Kolkata and moved with his family to Mumbai at the age of 3. As a student, he would often bunk school to hang out on the sets of his father's films.
As a teenager, Jackky indulged in travelling all over the world and took to adventure sports like ATV riding, jet skiing and bungee jumping. When he turned 16, Jackky started to help his father and turned assistant producer for films such as 'Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein', 'Vaada', 'Out Of Control', 'Shaadi No. 1', 'Silsiley', 'Om Jai Jagadish' and 'Deewanapan'. He gained much exposure to the intricate workings of the film industry and this fuelled his desire to become an actor.
Since he was an obese teenager weighing over 130 kgs, Jackky never revealed his ambitions to anyone, but stared preparing for the challenges of B'Town on his own. He lost a lot of weight through rigorous work out regimes and aggressive diet plans and finally mustered up the courage to tell his father of his dream to perform in front of the camera.
Vashu Bhangnani asked his son to work a lot more on himself in order to make it in the Hindi film industry. Jackky worked hard on his physique and lost 65 kgs in less than two years. He started training in dancing and improvised and mastered many dance forms. Jackky studied acting and earned a diploma from the reputable Lee Strasberg Institute of Theatre and Film in New York which counts Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro and Angelina Jolie amongst its alumni. He also took courses on performing stunts for action sequences.
When Jackky was finally ready to make his debut, father and son narrowed in on a suitable script, signed on director Vivek Sharma, and 'Kal Kissne Dekha' was launched. The romantic drama about a boy who could see the future was Jackky's launch vehicle opposite Vaishali Desai, grandniece of Manmohan Desai, and also starred ace actor Rishi Kapoor. The film however failed to flick with the audience and didn't have a successful run at the box office.
Jackky's second film is choreographer turned director Remo D'Souza's film 'F.A.L.T.U'. The young actor stars alongside former Miss India Puja Gupta, Chandan Roy Sanyal and Angad Bedi in this flick about youngsters wanting to do things differently. Produced by Vashu Bhagnani, 'F.A.L.T.U' is a fresh, youthful, fun filled flick with an important message for audiences.
With his charming smile, impressive histrionics and fabulous dancing skills, the Bhagnani scion is all set for his second innings in B'Town.
