Simple Kapadia PROFILE

Born on August 15, 1958, Simple, the younger sister of actress Dimple Kapadia started her career at the early age of 18 and made her debut with Rajesh Khanna in ‘Anurodh’ in 1977. She worked in a number of films like ‘Jeevan Dhara’, ‘Pyaar Ke Do Pal’, ‘Shaaka’, ‘Lootmaar’, ‘Ahsaas’. She quit acting in 1986 and returned as a costume designer and won the National Award for the film ‘Rudaali’ in 1993. She has been designing costumes for Dimple and her recent films included ‘Tum Milo To Sahi’ and ‘Right Yaa Wrong’. Simple passed away on November 10, 2009 after she suffered a cardiac arrest in Mumbai. It was also learnt from close family friends that she was suffering from cancer and was not too well in her last 2 to 3 years of her life. She had moved in with Dimple and was being cared and nursed by her sister.
