Boman Irani PROFILE
A photographer by profession, Boman started his theatre with a cameo role in Alyque Padamsee's Roshni.In Raell Padamsee's 'Family Ties', he acted as the 75-year-old Dhunjisha Batliwalla,and then in Rahul Da Cunha's 'I'm not Bajirao'. The play has been performed all over India and abroad. He lost 23 kgs to play the Mahatma in Feroz Khan's 'Mahatma vs Gandhi'. The play did 22 shows in South Africa to packed houses and was voted Play of the Year by the South African press. The play has performed in London, the United States, Hong Kong and Singapore and all over India. It also performed to a capacity crowd at the Stanford University.Boman has performed the lead role in Ram Madhvani's feature film Lets Talk. 'Let's Talk' also premiered at the Locarno film festival. He has even done a cameo in Rahul Bose's 'Everybody Says I'm Fine'. Over a 100 TV commercials old, he has featured in ads of Fanta, Krackjack, Tata Indica and many more. He planned to move to the Hindi film industry in the early 2000s. It was with Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. that Irani became really popular. Since then Irani has essayed many comedic, (Main Hoon Na, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Dostana, Khosla Ka Ghosla,Waqt: The Race Against Time, No Entry, 3 Idiots), supporting (Veer-Zaara,Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara, Lakshya, Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd., Sorry Bhai, Page 3, My Wife's Murder), and negative roles in (Don: The Chase Begins Again', Don 2: The King Is Back', Eklavya').
In the year 2012, he starred in a comic role in Sajid Khan's Housefull 2 and in the thriller Tezz, which was directed by Priyadarshan.
Irani also hosted the IIFA Awards together with actor Riteish Deshmukh in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 which was held at various locations across the globe. The duo was highly appreciated for their comic timing and their wit and humor at all the aforementioned functions. Boman is considered a remarkable actor, by fans and industry persons alike and has garnered tremendous popularity over the past decade. In 2012, he was seen in Ferrari Ki Sawaari, Cocktail, and Student of the Year.
In 2013, his first release was Jolly L.L.B. alongside Arshad Warsi.
